Thank you for taking time to review your experience with Waypoint Consulting. We appreciate it and take all feedback in to consideration.
The phone call you had with our recruiter was simply to qualify your candidacy. Our recruitment team screens all applicants to see if it might be a good fit for a preliminary interview. Our preliminary interview takes place in person so that all of our candidates may learn more about the open position which happens to be our Account Management role. Our Account Managers are responsible for retaining and acquiring new and old customers. They manage accounts on behalf of our client. Everyone starts out in this role, regardless of how many years experience they might have. We promote exclusively from within so that we can effectively train others. We believe that to coach other individuals, it is best to have experienced the role personally. The ad you responded to does state that it is an "entry level" role but is still designed to quickly excel those who might have 10+ years experience as well.
When the time becomes appropriate, the interviewing process also allows the opportunity to discuss all compensation structures. We offer both a generous commission structure as well as a base salary option. As mentioned on the phone, the hiring manager discusses and negotiates a figure for a base that will suit the candidate. That would be decided at the time an offer is made. We also go over specifics in paperwork of instances an Account Manager might not be paid out by our client. The only time our Account Managers might not be paid is if there is 1) a case of fraud or 2) if there is a pending/cancelled order. The reviews you have read prior to our call were written by those who had an order cancelled but had put in notice or left before realizing the was a cancellation. The client, not Waypoint, withholds the commission due to an incomplete transaction.
We apologize that this was not clearly explained. It is inevitable that a company will accrue a bad review here or there, especially after being established in their market the way that we have been for years now here in Denver. It is every applicant’s prerogative to either accept or decline an invitation to interview, however, if there are any questions or concerns regarding reviews, we would like to be given the opportunity to clear any misconstrued or twisted reviews. We absolutely pay our employees. Our employees are our most valued asset here at Waypoint Consulting.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at the office. We wish you the best of luck in finding that perfect fit.
