I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Wayfair
Interview
The interview process for Wayfair was streamlined and effective. I was sent a coding challenge to complete independently, then I was contacted about scheduling a phone interview. That was about half an hour of interviewing for culture fit, and we ended by scheduling my technical interview. The technical interview was over a live video call and coding platform. I was given guidelines for one class to create ahead of time, and the interviewer had me make modifications to that class and test them in real time. None of the questions required extremely specialized algorithms or data structures; they were targeted at identifying thinking and coding style rather than experience.

I applied through the portal and after few days I got the interview call. The interview process was smooth and interviewer was also friendly. You can easily clear your doubt with interviewer.

Question 1
Give a case study based on which they asked question.
It was in spring 2022. The overall process was smooth and easy. They asked me a simple question on system design, which was pretty simple and straightforward. Using dictionary can solve the problem. I didn't get hired tho. Probably because they started hiring freeze at that time.

I applied online. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Aug 2022
Interview
I found the entire process unprofessional. First they schedule an interview, then push it in the very mast minute. On the interview day, nobody joins the teams meeting, I kept waiting for an hour and had sent out couple of emails to the HR, and the interviewer to confirm if I was in the correct meeting room or if it has been rescheduled.

Question 1
System design question was asked, started working on it in Python, but the interviewer was unfamiliar with the language and I had to explain him at every stage.
