      Customer Support Interview

      19 Oct 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wave in Oct 2017

      Interview

I applied online and got an e-mail from the recruiter to schedule the phone call (by . the way, the e-mail was sent at 10 pm or something like that). Had short 20 minutes talk with basically simple questions like why wave? Are you comfortable with logistics (office is a bot far from downtown core), salary expectations, etc. Nothing really personal or job related. The phone connection was really horrible with lots of echoes like someone was using any of the call applications like Magic Jack or something. I had a call from Vancouver 30 minutes before and the connection and quality of sound were great. Really very formal, uninterested type of questions. like someone has to report "I've screened 10 candidates, I've found one/none".

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! When it comes to… well, everything we do at Wave, we do it because we’re incredibly passionate about empowering entrepreneurs with amazing products and support. We care about building an extraordinary team of ambitious individuals to drive this goal… so much so that sometimes we can’t help but keep looking for high potential candidates well into the evening! Each part of our interview process has been structured carefully to set up every single candidate for success, and it all begins with this first phone call. This is intended to be a short touchpoint: a chance to quickly assess on both sides of the table if there is a good fit. We’re looking to see what interests you about the role, how your experience aligns with the job description and of course, ensure the logistics of the position suit your expectations. While it sounds like this isn’t the right opportunity for you, we do take your feedback to heart when it comes to the importance of a clear phone connection and a conveying how valuable these conversations are to us. At Wave we don’t do anything for the sake of reporting it, but rather for meaningful results, and hope you rest assured knowing that even through echoes, we’re listening very carefully :) Best of luck in your career pursuits,
