The HR screening process was unexpectedly unpleasant and, frankly, a bit hurtful. The interviewer was dismissive and openly critical of the experience on my resume—the same resume they had chosen to invite for an interview. It felt unnecessarily personal and unprofessional. In stark contrast, the conversation with the Hiring Manager was respectful, engaging, and focused thoughtfully on the role and my qualifications. This sharp contrast speaks volumes. While the Hiring Manager left a positive impression, the HR process was discouraging and reflects poorly on the company’s respect for candidates.
