I have had 2 separate interviews 2 - 3 years apart.
The first interview I was interviewed by the Art Director and went very well, but I believe I wasn't hired due to not having the skills necessary they were looking for.
My second interview was with the art team online. They hardly asked me any questions and seemed to not be interested in my portfolio and the characters I've made. They seemed more interested in my proficiency in the software they used, and despite having experience in at least half of the software I was not hired.
It very much didn't seem like I was being interviewed for an intern / learning position, but more as an asset creator as I asked about their character making process and was told I would more than likely just be making character accessories as the characters had all been made and they just needed finishing work.
Disappointed in WB and the Salt Lake Team as I feel I interviewed well and had experience, but that they wanted someone who could fit into their pipeline out of the box. Obviously I wasn't an expert, but wanted and was willing to learn. However, again it felt like they were advertising this intern position less as a learning experience and more as an extra set of hands to help push their working title to release.
