I recently went through the interview process at WTW and would like to share my experience for others who might be applying.
1. Initial Interview
The process started with an initial interview conducted by a recruiter. It was mostly a screening call to understand my background, experience, and interest in the role. The recruiter also shared some details about the company, team structure, and the next steps in the process. It was a smooth and professional conversation.
2. Technical Interview
The next step was a technical interview with the hiring manager and three developers from the team — one focused on frontend, one on backend, and one on SQL/database.
Each of them asked domain-specific questions:
The frontend developer focused on UI frameworks, state management, and component-based architecture.
The backend developer asked about APIs, business logic, and some system design scenarios.
The SQL developer focused on writing queries, database optimization, and understanding of relational models.
The hiring manager facilitated the session, asked behavioral and situational questions, and also probed into how I collaborate within cross-functional teams.
The discussion was technical but collaborative, and the team was respectful and clear in their expectations.
