      Manager Interview

      28 Jun 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Columbia, MD
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at W. R. Grace & Co. (Columbia, MD) in May 2014

      Interview

A recruiter via mutual colleague contacted me about the role. Had an impressive first round phone screen with hiring director. Was asked to book my own flight and travel accommodations for a face-to-face interview at corporate headquarters. The first interview of the morning was with the hiring director, which went well. Subsequent interviews with prospective peers were downhill from there. One viewed me as a threat to his position and was outright hostile. Others were more amicable, but asked canned questions using industry jargon that were not germane to the position, and would never be germane to the position. After the hostile interviewer, declined to pursue position further. Lots of chest-puffing about taking GE processes to company. Company took seven weeks to reimburse interview expenses.
