The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Volanno (Washington, DC) in May 2020
Interview
When I was at the role, I had an in person interview at the office with all of the team members. They had a list of interview questions and it was generally pretty straightforward.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Volanno (Washington, DC)
Interview
IT WORKS is dedicated to good fit for their culture/values as well as to the client environment. My hiring process started months prior to coming on-board, and took the form initially as a series of phone conversations exploring work philosophy, work/life needs, location/transportation needs, and other general concerns. During this time, the conversations delved into specifics of my experience, and the typical questions that go between potential employment partners. No surprises or "gotchas", nor any of the silly antics you may have been thrown earlier in your career (trick questions, role-play, etc.). You are treated as a human being, with respect and dignity, and the greater concern is just with getting a good fit, with a person with the right skills to succeed for the client.

Question 1
Nothing was beyond the norm of what I would expect for an experienced hire. The staff and leadership did their due diligence in talking with people who knew my work. Subsequently, I was asked to go on client staff interviews, and these also asked the questions anyone would expect (describe a tough challenge, how you met it, etc.).
