The process was at Colombo 09, the Sri Lankan office and the position was for the PEGA platform. Consisted of three stages; a MCQ exam and 2 technical interviews. The exam was short and easy (problem solving, OOP and general English) and the first technical interview was with 2 senior software engineers, it consisted of some intermediate technical questions but was not too hard. Was told that I'd get a call in a few days for a date to be given for the 2nd interview, didn't happen, called them, got a date.
The 2nd interview was with an Software Architect and it was actually very easy, only asked 2 or 3 technical questions at most. Interestingly enough, only one of the questions was about PEGA throughout both rounds and that was to define what PEGA is (asked in the 2nd interview), all of the others were about OOP, Algorithms, UML, databases etc.
Now came the absolutely ridiculous part of this process. I was told that I was selected for the position after the 2nd interview, was congratulated and told that I 'd be given a date to get the package details and a start date for the offer in the next day or so, hinting that I would probably get to start work within about 2 weeks. So I waited.. didn't get a call after a few days, called them, was told to wait for 2 more days and that they would call back, waited, didn't get a call, called them again.
What did I hear? That they'd already filled their quota for PEGA this month (this was at the beginning of the month), that my profile was put on hold till next month by which time I'd definitely get the position and whether I would like to apply again for QA for which they had some few vacancies if I wanted a position sooner? I told them that I would wait. They told me that I'd definitely get a call-back and would get an e-mail within the next 2 weeks as well. A month was fine, I thought, no worries. So I waited.
A month passed, no reply. I gave-up and decided to never again apply for the company in my life, I was both insulted and disgusted with their utter unprofessionalism and disregard for qualified candidates.
Now nearly 2 months have passed. Still not a single communication from them. The interviews were ok but the overall process was just a terrible experience with a fumbling HR department and frenzied and clueless HR assistants acting like they manage the whole selection process. I wouldn't recommend a position here to anyone, even if there isn't another job offer in sight. You'd do better to start your own company however small it may be than applying to this absolute mess of a company. Should have better HR, very unfortunate.
