      Project Coordinator Interview

      22 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Virtuas in Mar 2022

      Interview

The interview seemed to put A LOT of emphasis on culture, more than abilities. That is fine, if a company wants that. The only thing is that from the beginning it was evident that I was not going to be a cultural fit as it seems they wanted someone 'hip' or interesting in their eyes. That is fine but I was pushed to try to show personality to the point that it felt it was too personal, felt uncomfortable, even bad about myself. Perhaps I should have known better and just ended the interview but these things can be awkward. If it's obvious from the beginning that you will not be a cultural fit, there is no need to ask personal questions about what I do outside of work. There's nothing wrong with asking this as I have been asked before but the pushing was really uncomfortable for me. At work I focus on productivity, communication and efficiency. Had the job ad made an emphasis on this requirement, I would not have applied.
