Thanks for your review. The task we use for our Motion Graphics role is used only to assess the suitability of candidates and has no other purpose.
By using the task we're able to assess candidates on a level playing field when given the same assets and instructions to work with (something we can't do using a candidates portfolio alone), and we're not looking for a template at all, rather we realise that working in After Effects is much more than just the video output.
Vidsy has an international, internal team of 10+ Motion Designers, and juggle After Effects files from a community of almost 10,000 Creators - each with their own ways of working - so we need to ensure our candidates know their way around After Effects like the back of their hand so they're ready for any challenge.
Our Motion Designers collaborate on projects and we need to ensure that the files can be easily picked up and completed by any of the Team. Nobody wants to collaborate with Designers if their AE files are unorganised, badly named and full of pre-comps!
