I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vanguard (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
The interview process was structured and professionally conducted, with a strong emphasis on technical skills. It included questions on SQL, case-based analysis involving data interpretation and decision-making, as well as discussions about my previous experiences and projects. The approach was thorough and focused on assessing technical competence and problem-solving abilities.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview covered technical concepts related to SQL and database query structuring, case study questions involving operational data analysis and decision-making, and an in-depth discussion of my personal data projects, focusing on methodologies, tools used, and the impact of my work.
Initial hacker rank test. One hour, 10 to 15 questions. 4 basic SQL questions. 1 more intermediate, but ran out of time. The other remaining questions were multiple choice about statistics and hypothesis testing, and also some with basic math.
If you pass hacker rank, it led to a case study interview, but not really about statistics. It aligns with a McKinsey case study type interview, about profit, metrics, is this good or bad, etc...
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Vanguard (London, England)
