Interview
Applied online while researching rotational programs, received an email the next day to schedule a phone screen. I had the phone screen a day later with basic behavioral questions. The recruiter sounded a little bored, but it was late in the day.
I received a call about 5 days later inviting me to attend an Interview Day in Charlotte, NC in 2 weeks. The Day included two 1-hour interviews, presentations, and a roundtable discussion (received topic prior). There were about 8 applicants at the day, and I believe there were a few more days scheduled. Received offer after 1 week with competitive benefits and salary.
I understand that the program class ("cadre") is to have about 6 participants, hired both internally and externally.

An initial phone call to assess if follow up interview is wanted. Follow up interview was a five hour long interview broken up into sections. 1 section for general interview/personality interview, 1 for a more technical interview, and 1 roleplay scenario. The other sections, about 3, were spread throughout the day and consisted of general Q & A between the candidates and employees of the company.

Interview
I applied through my university website and also applied on Vanguard's website. I got a call about 2 weeks later for a phone interview. The phone interview was normal, STAR response behavioral questions and some background on why I wanted to work for Vanguard and just general fit questions. I was contacted 2 weeks later to a Student Visit Day. This is the final round of interviews and is an entire 8am-3pm day. The day consisted of two 1 on 1 interviews that were each one hour long. They were very intensive and fast paced, once again STAR response. The rest of the day was spent with breakfast and lunch with senior managers, and then there was a group "activity" at the end. It was a very pleasant experience.
