The interview process consisted of multiple rounds, including initial screening conversations and follow-up interviews with members of the sales team and hiring manager. Throughout the process, communication was generally responsive and the conversations were productive. I had 6 different meetings. 5 via teams and 1 in person. The 7th was a mock demo.
I progressed to what was positioned as the final stage of the process, which involved preparing and delivering a mock demo/presentation. This required a meaningful time investment to prepare appropriately.
However, the day before the scheduled mock demo, I received a call from the hiring manager informing me that the company had decided to move in a different direction. The demo was canceled without the opportunity to present.
During a prior conversation, I had asked clarifying questions about the compensation structure and how top performers were achieving earnings within the plan. Shortly after that discussion, the process was ended. I was told it was because I had expressed concerns with the comp, which wasn’t unreasonable but it was low, which the hiring manager even agreed that it was. I was expecting them to negotiate with me, not end the process.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at VODA.ai (Thessaloníki, Western Macedonia) in Sept 2025
Interview
A simple 30-minute call with an hr person at first, asking very basic things about cv, experience etc. Also some basic questions about notice period, availability etc. After that a technical interview with two people, asking basic questions about my experience, tools I've used and processes/things I do at my current position, how I approach certain problems etc.. Also two basic hr questions at the end(not really fit for a technical interview): what's a difficulty you've handled in your work life and another I don't remember. I felt like the interview was too focused on having used the exact tools and processes they use, which isn't really assessing one's skill because tools and processes can be learned easily. After that I was told the next step would be a take-home assignment to be completed in a week and then a final interview discussing the assessment as well as final details such as salary etc.

Question 1
Are you doing code reviews in your current company?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at VODA.ai
Interview
I want to be clear: this was not a genuine recruitment process—it was a recruitment circus. My interview experience with VODA.ai was a masterclass in disorganization and disregard for candidates. After applying for an open role, I had a pre-screening call scheduled, only to be informed just 20 minutes before the meeting that the role had been put on hold—despite the recruiter having ample time to notify me sooner. Months later, when I reapplied, I was told the hiring process would be fairly quick and involve only two more steps, yet it took the recruiter two weeks to follow up, and the “two more steps” morphed into a chaotic four-round process, involving interviews with two VPs, all for an entry-level, freelance, minimum-wage position. Throughout this time, meetings were frequently canceled or rescheduled at the very last minute without any proactive communication. Ironically, the one time I asked for a slight scheduling adjustment, I was told flatly that no flexibility was possible. Instead of directly coordinating interviews, the leadership relied on other team members (whose roles had nothing to do with recruitment) to act as go-betweens for their calendars, wasting everyone’s time. During my final interview, the hiring manager even joked that the “torture” was over and that I’d hear back soon with good news—yet they never followed up, leaving me completely in the dark. For a role they claimed was “urgent to fill,” this dragged out for nearly three months until I decided to pull out of the process myself. Heads-up for future candidates: they record all interviews by default and treat your participation as consent—so if you’re not comfortable with this, make sure to proactively request a non-recorded meeting. To conclude, I have never encountered a process handled with such little respect for candidates’ time and effort. VODA.ai’s approach leans on the current brutal job market to exploit candidates' patience, but if you value your time and self-respect, you should avoid engaging with them altogether and think twice before applying.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All interview questions were painfully basic (e.g. “Tell me about yourself,’’ “What tools have you used?”) with nothing aligned to candidate level or depth of experience.
