I applied online. I interviewed at VIPKid (Austin, TX) in Jul 2017
Interview
I applied online and quickly received an email confirming my application and asking to schedule an interview. I did not respond immediately, as I was not sure when I would be available, and received many more emails and two phone calls reminding/convincing me to schedule my interview. In the interview, I basically confirmed my education/background and then gave my demo lesson. Afterwards, the interviewer gave me one small suggestion and told me she had no other notes, that I did perfectly on nearly all of the sections, and that other workers would go over the interview and get back to me within 24 hours. After two days of no emails/calls I checked into the site and saw a message saying that I was an excellent candidate but that they would not be continuing the application. Still don't know what exactly led to that decision, but it appears I won't be receiving any more information.
We apologize for any miscommunication issues you may have experienced at the time of your application to become a VIPKID teacher. We are working hard to improve our response time and offer clearer, more consistent feedback. We hope we can offer a better experience if you decide to reapply!
