      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I interviewed at Urban Alliance (Washington, DC) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Great questions. Take your time and really think about your responses and the best way to give your answer. The questions were about past experience, why working with youth, and communication styles. Also what is the best working style or function.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Urban Alliance (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

The final round was 1.5-2 hours total and included an interview with the HR head and the ED, followed by a presentation I had to facilitate for a panel of staff and students. I had to create a presentation on a career readiness topic in preparation. After all of that, I never heard back from them. I followed up twice over email just to find out if I was still being considered, and nothing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What's one song that describes you or your perspective on life best? How would you support Urban Alliance students in different circumstances i.e. if they're having issues with their employer?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Urban Alliance

      Interview

The interview was split into three areas in one day. Thirty minutes with staff (who all seemed well-educated in youth development), a 10 minute mini lesson in front of alumni (all really well-behaved, not presenting in front of staff), and 20 minutes of them interviewing you after. I will say this - I think they were expecting something a little more exciting for the mini lesson, rather than just going through information/having examples/class work - but you are limited by time, so I'm not sure what they were expecting.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What skills do you want to learn from this position, where do you see yourself in the future, what challenges do Chicago Youth have.
