Honestly, strange process. They headhunted me and set me up for an interview with someone who wasn’t on the sales recruiting team and couldn’t answer any of my questions. They said I’d basically just talk to this first person and a manager and then a decision would be made.
Instead, I talked to another recruiter who similarly couldn’t answer most of my questions. Both lovely folks but sloppy process no doubt. I also was asked morning-of to attend this interview and just happened to be free.
Then talked to a manager. Then talked to another recruiter. So, 2 more interviews than laid out at the beginning (but overall a normal amount of interviews at 4 total).
In short, a pretty poor experience. I had to reach out inbetween interviews just to see where things were and *then* I’d hear back and move onto the next round. No dedicated coordinator, barely any communication.
To boot, at the end, I asked the sourcer who also acted as my sort’ve-coordinator if he had any updates. No response there but I instead received a blanket rejection letter via email the next day as if I’d merely applied and not been headhunted and then gone through 4 interviews + a Q&A with a more senior recruiter (which I personally had to request because no one could sufficiently answer most of my Qs). I’m totally fine with the rejection - every company has their preferences and I’m sure the other candidate is wonderful. But dang, what a sloppy, slow, and impersonal process.
I’m interviewing with other companies right now and Upwork’s hiring process was by far the least well-organized, which doesn’t bode well when recruiting for recruiters.
Not adding interview questions below because they were very banal.
