The interview process had two parts - HR and technical. Meetings are arranged over Calendly and were held over Google Hangouts. HR - I was interviewed by a kind girl from Romania who made me forget that I'm being interviewed. It was a general talk about my previous experience and expectations. She gave me a lot of useful info about the Upstack platform. The first part of a technical interview is a coding challenge where you're given a few tasks that I was solving with a shared screen. For me, it was a bit of a strange experience when I work while someone is watching. After the coding part, he asked me questions about Java, Spring, Hibernate, etc. The interviewer is patient and gave me time to think, the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and informal. I asked him for feedback and he kindly explained where he thinks I have holes in knowledge. Overall, the Upstack interview process was one pleasant experience.
