I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at University Research Co. (Chevy Chase, MD) in Dec 2018
Interview
It took 2 months, maybe because of the holidays (End of December to January) in addition to maybe the 2019 government shutdown (not sure how much they were impacted since they work closely with USAID, but I didn’t hear from them all of January until the 31st). First HR called me to organize an interview before Christmas. I had an almost 2 hour interview with 3 different people from the team. I followed up with 2 emails and 1 call since there was radio silence in January. Finally I was called again to organize a phone interview with higher up employees on that team. After that, I had to complete an Excel test, and writing test in French, with a short time limit. Finally I had to send in 3 professional references (warn them that it’s an extensive form they have to email with about 10 questions), authorization to allow a background and credit check, and my past salary verification. Finally got the offer almost 2 months after the initial interview took place.

Interview
It was a great experience. Interviewer was professional and polite. It lasted for about 45 minutes and I was asked about 12 questions total. It didn't have many behavioral questions and focused more on my skillset.
