      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Union Pacific in Feb 2019

      Interview

Total process took a about a month and a half. I applied in early January, 2 days after I had to take an online personality test and answer some basic reading comprehension questions. After that I was invited to an interview that was 5 weeks from the date of offer. You sit down in a conference room. My particular one had a total of 18 people there. They try one last time to, through a slide show presentation followed by a Q&A session to make sure everyone there is really ready for what the job has to offer. Then, after that, there was a short 15 minute break. Then people were taken 1 by one in the order they signed in as they arrived. If you don't have background in a heavily regulated job or a job that's known for being physically demanding such as Semi truck driver, tradesman, warehouse worker, etc. They don't want you. I had a resume that has 12 years of working in Retail and the interviewer made it very clear she was not impressed with it and regularly circled back to it to essentially make me feel that I had no business being at that interview. Not very professional at all. After stating earlier that the biggest reason for turnover rate is people failing out of class part of training, one would think they'd want an intelligent person, but apparently not.

      Application

I interviewed at Union Pacific (San Antonio, TX)

      Interview

Recorded interview. 10-12 questions. All pretty comprehensive but over all prepared me for complicated questions in the future. I think they have employees that get furloughed so ultimately didn’t go through with the process.
