I applied through other source. I interviewed at Unified Group Services (Anderson, IN) in Feb 2018
Interview
I applied to this company by mailing a resume and a letter of introduction, as there were no openings advertised at the time. They retained my information, and when the position in accounting came up called me in for the interview.
The interview process was very informal, and I spoke to two women - one was in the department and one was in HR. They asked me very few questions and left the door open for me to ask a lot of questions. They provided a bullet-point overview of the job as a starting point.
I was also given some preliminary screening tests that were unbelievably basic. The job opening asked for someone with a 2- or 4-year accounting degree; one of the tests consisted of a series of math problems such as "What is 4 x 5" - they made a point of stating not to use a calculator. There was no testing for higher-level skills, such as Excel or Quickbooks proficiency, nor was there any testing to establish that the applicant had general knowledge of accounting terminology.
