The first interview was about a 15 minute phone interview. I was mostly just asked how many years of experience I had with software and various skills. I found it a bit redundant since it was a lot of the same questions that were asked in the application. I also would have preferred for it to be a video call, since these days that should be easy for everyone to do. I was then given an assignment to do in Articulate Storyline within 72 hours. The brief was vague enough that it gave me a lot of freedom in creativity. Because it wasn't tied to any particular brand, it was something I could add to my portfolio and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of for free labor. It might be a bit much for someone to do if they're applying for jobs while also working full time, but I was unemployed at the time, so I had the time. The second and final interview was a video call with the manager and his boss, who's the head of the larger team. It was a casual conversation and I actually asked most of the questions. It was a bit surprising to me that they didn't ask me more, but at the same time, I appreciated how naturally the conversation flowed.
