I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Ubiquiti (Orange, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Over lunch, it was good. There were 5 people that joined the interview. 4 of them I've know for a few years now. Didn't felt like an interview more like dinning with friends.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were straightforward, What are your skillsets, how long can you do do photo realistic illustrations, graphic design etc.
The interview process was clear and straightforward. I had an initial screening call, followed by a conversation about my experience, design process, previous projects, and how I approach product problems. The communication was professional, and the steps were explained clearly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to walk through one of my previous design projects and explain my process, key decisions, challenges, and the impact of the final solution.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ubiquiti (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process was chaotic, one of the worst candidate experience I had when interviewing with companies. There isn't good alignment internally in the company, one person has one standard and expectation about the role, the other has totally different standards. I was asked to do a one-week assignment and go through several rounds of interview. I was always given positive feedback about my performance and my design assignment, but in the end, it turned out to be a big surprise that the team doesn't need an extra person. Why do I go through the whole process then? As a candidate, I don't feel being respected and treated nicely. The company has absolutely power to say anything and turn you down.
