I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UW Credit Union (Madison, WI) in Aug 2011
Interview
It was extremely behavior and core values focussed. They were more concerned with asking questions about how you have reacted to situations than what you would do. They ask for examples. They also value a finding the right people than all the correct experiences. Much of the leadership have read first Break All the Rules and Good to Great. I would google those books if you are not aware of the content before interviewing. I wouldn't quote the book just understand what they value as an organization.

Interview
This was probably the most difficult interviewing processes that I have had in a while. The application in itself was easy, however; the interviewing process is where it started to get interesting . My phone interview flowed really nicely and the HR person who conducted my phone interview was nice and set the tone so I knew how many questions they were going to ask ahead of time. I received an invitation to schedule a second video interview. I scheduled it and then it was rescheduled multiple times. I understand that things happen but it was rescheduled twice and that started to feel like a bad sign. I finally had my video interview with 2 managers. One was really nice and the other was very dry, kept a poker face and barely engaged the entire time. I was asked between 15-20 questions and they were all behavioral based questions. It was very intense as behavioral based questions are frustrating in general but to have so many makes it nerve wrecking. I was also asked to sell a non-banking product to them.
Based on the tone of one of the interviewers I could tell that they weren’t interested. The following week I received a call from the HR person who told me that they didn’t feel that I had enough experience for the position that I had 2 interviews for but they offered me a different position and stated I could re-apply for the position that I was Originally interviewing for. I did decline as I wasn’t interested in the position that they offered and honestly the entire process made me uncomfortable and just didn’t feel right. It was also interesting how I made it to 2 interviews and then they determined I didn’t have, “enough experience”.
I have heard really good things about this company from people who work/have worked here but my interviewing process wasn’t the best.

Question 1
What is one non-banking product that you would sell us and why should we buy it?

Interview
They began the process by introducing the entire interview team. I was a great candidate but did not prepare or dress up for the interview as it was during my normal job hours and did not fit well into my schedule.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at UW Credit Union
Interview
The interviewing process consisted of an in person interview with three current managers. Interviews are nerve wrecking in general, but when you have to interview in front of three managers it's even worse. The questions they ask are meant to be difficult, and meant to get you to think outside the box. I found that the interview was one of the most difficult interview I've ever been too.
