Very demanding hiring process as an officer. You have to take multiple tests and compete against thousands. The interview focuses on your values, your competency, and your desire to serve others.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at US Air Force (Washington, DC) in Jun 2016

      Interview

The "interview" process was more of a detailed package review. You submit a commander's application package which included items such as your letter of intent (i.e. cover letter), letters of recommendation, performance reports, picture, location preferences, resume, etc. Packages were reviewed by a headquarters level panel that first determined if your were selected to be a commander. If you were selected for command, you were subsequently matched to a location. Depending on the type of command position, there may be interview involved.

      Question 1

N/A--the first step was to provide a detailed package containing items such as a letter of intent (i.e. cover letter), letters of recommendation, performance reports, picture, location preferences, resume.

      Interview

Was called via Telephone from a 2-star General Officer and asked a few personal questions not appropriate for commercial asking (what do you think about coming to base X, how will your wife feel, do your children think they will like going to base x). It was followed by an in-person interview.
