I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UCL Business
Interview
Long, disorganised process where I needed to follow up on all interview stages and the result. The second interview was over an hour long, followed by 2 tasks (both felt rather redundant). A lot of time invested (and wasted) in the process and no feedback, unless you consider 'we had a stronger candidate' acceptable as constructive feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They covered similar ares during both interviews. Some questions were the same.
Thank you for your comment. We would like to apologise that the feedback was not forthcoming, we are speaking to the recruitment agency involved to find out why they haven’t kept you informed and to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future.
We would be very happy to provide you with feedback, please contact us directly jobs@uclb.com.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UCL Business (London, England) in Jan 2021
Interview
They gave me two working days and weekend to prepare for the interview. They asked me to confirm the interview date they chose before telling me what the interview would entail and sent me the information about what I had to do for the interview the next day.
I had an interview with UCL Business for a one year contract associate project manager role. I had to develop a project plan based on information that was provided, I covered project team structure, roles, overview stage plans, budget and timescale using a Gantt chart. I was given 10 minutes and finished the presentation in 9 minutes. And they asked me 17 questions over the next 50 minutes.
I did not get the job and asked for feedback. To put it briefly, the feedback stated that my project plan was too detailed and I wasn’t enthusiastic enough in my tone of voice. They also said the lighting was poor where I was (it was day time and I had the light on). They did say that I answered the questions well and was very clear and concise. They also said I did not have experience managing life sciences and biological science projects. In a presumptuous comment said that they thought I was more suited to managing a few number of projects with high involvement as opposed to a large number of projects with low involvement. From that comment, it seemed like my experience on the subject matter should not have been an issue.

Interview
Interview process was straightforward and was made to feel comfortable . Make sure to reseach the company beforehand. I was offered the job within a week of being interviewed which enabled me to resign quickly and effectively.
