I was recommended by a person that worked in the recruiting department of the FDA. He recommended me for a program analyst position with an associate that he had worked with for over a year. I interviewed with a Senior Program Manager who was just given a requisition to add one employee to her department.

I was hired in 1991 under unusual circumstances.
I submitted an application at a job fair. During open season, I got a call for an interview and was interviewed by my future supervisor and his supervisior. I was offered the job. I had to respond quickly because there was a short hiring window.
