I applied online at Builtinchicago.com. The Hiring Manager reached out to me for a quick 30 min phone call which covered basic questions like Why truss? and walk me through your resume, etc.... After the call, we scheduled an in-person interview at the Truss office in Chicago.
The in-person interview was a lot more laid back than expected. It's a startup so their team was dressed in casual/smart casual. I overdressed with a sports coat (no-tie). I met 30 minutes with their current operations analyst where he asked me more role-specific questions, like handling databases, handling ambiguity, etc... This guy was pretty high-strung and was racing through questions.
The final 30 minutes was with the Hiring Manager again, where she basically asked me the same questions she asked me over the phone, so I was a bit confused if I should repeat my answers or provide a different perspective. I think she even admitted to forgetting everything from our phone interview.
Overall, they were really good with following up and the process was pretty quick. Everyone was really cool and it seems like an awesome company to work for.
