Beware.. you may have marketing manager or director level experience and but you will be offered to interview for an administrative support/specialist role.
I recently submitted my resume and a small portfolio to the recruiting agency assisting the canidate search. I have past experience in administrative support roles however, for approx the last 10 years my experience is Marketing Management and Marketing Director.
After a few calls with the recruiter, she submitted my information to the hiring team. A few days later, she reached out to me to say the team would like me to interview for an administrative specialist position. If this is something that is ok for you, then don't let my review stop you. However, many of us work very hard to travel up the ranks from assistant, specialist, manager, then director. We may be willing to ride the wave of manager to director back to manager based on the brand or position description, but it is terribly off-putting and absurdly presumptuous that this company's hiring team feels someone who has worked so hard is willing to throw it away for an administrative specialist position. I suggest people research the company and hiring team on LinkedIn as well, perhaps it will give a better understanding of why this happened. I did suggest to the recruiter that perhaps one of their existing managers or directors would like to transfer to the position. Perhaps it was in poor taste, but it did prove a point.
