This conversation will center more on your personality, work ethic, and how much of your life you are willing to commit to the job. The interviewer mentioned that you would likely start on a percentage of your target salary for the first few months as a trial period to demonstrate your performance, after which you would transition to your full requested salary. Would not want to have them as my manager so I feel like I dodged a bullet!!
