I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Transport for London (London, England) in Jan 2013
Interview
Situational judgment test, numerical reasoning test -> telephone interview -> assessment day.
The SJT and numerical reasoning tests were timed, and you should watch the clock, as you need to move quickly and skip questions that take too much time.
The telephone interview was a standard look at soft skills -- communication, teamwork, and leadership assessment.
The assessment day included a presentation of project management involved in building a station, group-based activity assessing a cycle hire expansion (see below), 1:1 interviews, and more numerical/situation tests. There was also a chance to ask questions of senior managers and of current graduates.

Question 1
In the assessment day, we assessed where to expand cycle hire stations, as a group. We had an hour and were meant to "work together" to arrive at a set of recommendations and justifications for those recommendations.

Interview
The interview consists of a number of questions based on how the individual would handle situational challenges. The individual is given a question and a set time to think the question through. When ready the interviewee can start the recording and answer the question accordingly.
