I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Transamerica (Woodland Hills, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
I responded to an online job posting and received an email back a few days later. We set up a time to have a phone call and did. He asked me to come in for an inverview and did not ask any questions on the phone. During the in person inverview he asked me very few questions about myself but gave me a 40 minute presentation on what they do. Compared what he does to what Herbalife does. The job and interview were jokes. No pay, only comission. Tries to entice you by telling you how much money they make. He explained to me how it works and it sounded like a complete pyramid scheme. He wasn't even very knowledgable about investments but did know very well the few investment options they offer.
Someone reached out to me on LinkedIn and we set up an interview with no application process. One of these commission-based, no-experience-required things. That guy and his mentor talked to me for an hour with a whole presentation, and it ended with an offer to become one of their clients if not an advisor.
Very calm, and easy. They just want to get to know you at first. It isn’t as much as an interview as it is a conversation to see if that want to take the next step

Question 1
Tell me about your background and why you chose to apply to Transamerica
Get an insight of the business, learn about the structure, and compensation potential. It may be for some people but I’m still deciding if it’s for me. It was very reminiscent to a mlm structure so that kind of made me second guess if it was something I wanted to do but it may be for someone.
