I applied online. I interviewed at Transamerica (Cedar Rapids, IA)
Interview
The process was really, really slow. Took a few weeks to hear anything. Received a VM, called the recruiter back and left her a VM twice that day. Did not hear back until the end of the week. By then I was already in a face to face interview process with another larger company but was still interested so set up recruiter screening. Seemed to go very well, if anything I felt like I maybe a bit over qualified for the position. Recruiter seemed very impressed with my interview and said next steps I would definitely be getting an onsite interview. At the end of the screening they ask you your salary expectations. I told her what my expectations where and then she told me how much the position pays which was hmmm about 40k-50k less. I said no problem sure we can work something out. Recruiter ended the call somewhat abruptly and her tone changed. Did not hear anything for a week, then got an auto decline over email. By then I had already accepted a position with another company who moves WAY faster than you all. If you want to get top talent you need to move faster than your competition and you need to be asking the salary question on your application or in the start of the phone screen if that is going to be a hard decline so you don't waste your time and other peoples time.
