      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toyota North America (Erlanger, KY) in Nov 2014

      Interview

I submitted a resume on their website and was contacted by a recruiter roughly 3 weeks afterwards who briefly went over my resume on the phone and scheduled an on-site interview for one week later. I met with 2 Logistics Specialists or Route Planners in Assistant Management positions and the Supply Chain Manager. They gave me 3 minutes to talk about my work experience and were not shy about cutting me off when approaching that limit. After the not so realistic version of my experience we went through the standard STAR competency questions. "Tell me about a time where you collected data and evaluated the accuracy of it. Use 'I' not 'we'. This is your shining interview." "Tell me about a time when you managed a team to accomplish a goal." "Tell me about a time when you had to convince a group of people of an idea you had. How did you accomplish this?" I normally could under the time limits except they started the interview 15 minutes late and ended it 15 minutes early. The 2 Assistant Managers were very nice but towards the end I must have misunderstood something one of them said and asked a question along the lines of "So sometimes you have to make decisions?" I put a bit of emphasis on the decisions piece but everyone immediately began looking at me very strange... So I, of course, returned their strange looks with one of my own. The Supply Chain Manager then began to condescendingly ask "What? Decisions? Umm... no. This isn't that kind of position." I have no idea what they thought I meant but I was appalled by the lack of professionalism at this point so simply said I had no other questions so I could leave. The entire situation was very disappointing especially coming from a company like Toyota that I have very deep respect for. I am confidant that these managers may have just already made a decision on someone else but I took much more time out of my life and current job to come all the way there for the interview and only got half of one.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Really nothing difficult... None of the managers had anything to ask outside the 3 STAR competency questions.
