I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toyota North America in Oct 2013
Interview
Had an interview on campus after talking with a recruiter at a career fair. Mostly behavioral questions, nothing too out of the ordinary. Seemed like it went well, was told I would be contacted either way within the next day or two and never heard back. I've called the recruiter and one of the interviewers who gave me his card with no response back from either one. Not sure what happened.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Toyota North America in Sept 2017
Interview
The interview consisted of mainly behavioral questions and seemed to be about getting to know me in terms of skill set and interests.
The Toyota employees made me feel very comfortable and were open to answering any questions I had as well as clarifying the specifics of what they were looking for.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toyota North America
Interview
1st: Met recruiter at my college career fair. We spoke for a few minutes while he reviewed my resume
2nd: I received a call that night to set up an interview (the following day)
3rd: Had my interview which was a 2 on 1. Pretty basic questions. It was the typical behavioral questions. Also, Why Toyota? Why the auto Industry? Willing to Re-locate? etc.
4th: Received an email a few days later inviting me to the headquarters in Torrance CA for the final interviews
5th: Flew out the CA about a month and a half later. The first day consisted of two interviews. Both were 1 on 1. Nothing too challenging. Again, pretty standard interview questions. That night they cut the about half of the candidates (from about 50 to 25 or so). I was invited back to the final round which was the following morning.
6th: This interview was a 3 on 1. Definitely more intense and questions a bit harder. Still some behavioral questions. More specific to why the auto industry and Toyota. Wanted to know all of my questions. (have some good questions prepared) After the interview, I took an excel assessment which was pretty basic as well. Just ensuring that you can do the basic functions on excel.
7th: Flew back home. About one week went by and I received a phone call with the Offer!
The entire process took about 2 months.
