I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Toyota North America (Frisco, TX) in Mar 2019
Interview
Phone screen interview then on-site panel interview.
It took a while to schedule the on-site interview since managers interviewing were traveling according to my HR contact.
Toyota is a good company and they produce great cars so I was expecting them to be better at the interviewing/hiring process.
Interview was held at HQ offices in Frisco and I arrived 15 minutes prior to the interview at 9:00 am and had to wait until 9:30 - 9:45 am which was the first red flag.
Once at the panel interview, no one was making eye contact when asking questions and just writing answers on paper instead of focusing on the content of the answer, kept getting reminded they were "engaged" but clearly weren't, some walked outside the room in the middle of the interview which led me to believe they were not interested and probably had another candidate in mind but forced to go through this process.
After being disappointed by the interview process one of their members gave me a tour of the campus which was very impressive, the place is brand new and very modern and the person giving me the tour was engaged unlike managers at the interview.
They were also supposed to give me a prepaid card for expenses since I traveled for this interview but that didn't happen.
I've been through a couple interviews in my career but this has been the first one where they didn't reimburse for my travel and didn't care to meet with me during the interview so I was confident in not getting the job.
I would advice Toyota to do a better job on the interview process but this might be inherent to their culture.

Interview
It was a simple interview, they analyse your cv together with you and then you have to present yourself about previuous experiences and jobs. And they ask if you know anything about TPS
1 phone interview and 1 in person interview. It was a Star system interview and it was about 45 minutes long. They did a good job of explaining the job requirements.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Toyota North America (Plano, TX) in Oct 2023
Interview
Basic technical questions about automotive technology. STAR questions to lead off which asked about your background and previous experience in working conditions, how you handle adversative and different situations. Overall the interview process isn't bad but a lot of scripted questions.
