I applied online. I interviewed at Topdeck Travel (Brisbane) in Nov 2023
Interview
Lengthy process with multiple stages.
First you submit a CV
Then you are asked to submit a video describing an event or location that is allocated to you
Then you do a group interview with a presentation, group activities and a 1:1 interview
If you are successful through all rounds you will be invited to study and train for the job.
The training trip is 2-3 weeks and it is intensive but fair. You will be required to stay in hostels around Europe as a group. You are given opportunities to present on various places and events, and are asked to lead walking tours and driving tours with your peers. It is tiring and full on but it is very rewarding and exciting. The trainers want the best for you and want to see you succeed, but they also want to test how you perform under pressure.
The interview had 2 parts - a group interview where we gave a presentation on a historical topic and said what we would do in certain scenarios, and an individual interview where we were asked some more in depth questions. The interviewers were friendly and the interview had an overall relaxed atmosphere.
It was a London based interview with presentations about a historical topic to the group and then a 1:1 interview with management with competency based questions about strengths and weaknesses among others
