I’m a backend engineer with 8 years of experience, and this was the most disrespectful and unprofessional interview process I’ve ever been through.
The process dragged on for over a month with 30+ emails, three rounds, and multiple reschedules. I was assured early on that advertising experience wasn’t required, but later I was told the exact opposite, which showed there was no alignment between the recruiting team and the interviewers.
The first coding round went fine. But the second round was shocking. After two last-minute reschedules without prior notice, the interviewer finally joined completely unprepared, appearing unprofessional, taking a personal call on speaker for several minutes during the interview, and dismissing the entire “business design” round I had prepared for, saying there was “no need” because of my lack of ads experience (contradicting what I was told from the start). He briefly suggested doing coding again, then realized I had already completed that round, and ended the session after about 25 minutes with nothing accomplished. It felt like a complete waste of time. Also I should mention that the interviewer showed up in a robe since they had just finished showering.
The final round was no better. The interviewer ended the session early due to personal commitments and asked only a few surface-level questions before cutting things short.
Throughout the process, I was repeatedly told I was a strong candidate and given the impression that things were moving forward positively. After all that time and reassurance, I received only a generic automated rejection email — no explanation, no feedback, not even a direct follow-up from the recruiting team I’d been in contact with. I even sent a polite request for feedback afterward and got nothing in return.
