I passed the first 3 rounds of the interview process with HR, Heads of and Managing director of UK respectively. The 4th and final interview was a peer interview which was a terrible experience . The peer interviewer’s conduct during the interview was rude, disrespectful, intimidating and altogether unprofessional . Apart from the fact that she was clearly using this process as an opportunity to boost her own ego, she also tried to fish for information about what I am currently discussing with my brands for online activations. Which I’m sure we can agree is highly inappropriate. She was poorly prepared for the interview, asking a variety of random questions which had no relevance to the role which I had applied for, and constantly interrupting me when I tried to reply to her ridiculous questions.
When I asked her about her experience working in tiktok, she couldn’t tell me much as she’s only worked there for less than a month.
Following this, It was not a surprise when I got an automated email from Tiktok saying “we decided to move forward with other candidates”, it was sent to me on a Saturday at 1pm when I was in the middle of enjoying my weekend! The whole interview process started from early June, it took them almost three months to interview me via 4 rounds and rejected my application at the end after the peer interview. It was a waste of my time and effort.
