I was referred by a TikTok employee for a couple of very suitable positions. After some weeks a recruiter reached out to organize an interview. The day of the interview he didn’t call, so I emailed him and got an OOO email. Great. At least after a few minutes he called.
During the chat we spoke about the many open opportunities that TikTok has at the moment, and about my extensive experience in Marketing and Advertising. He said that he would sync with his colleagues to organize a follow up as my background was great for several roles.
A week went by and he didn’t reach out so I sent him an email. I heard nothing back.
Another week and the same, ghosted.
If you said that you would follow up, then follow up. Especially if the candidate is reaching out and asking for an update. Candidates are not disposable items and there’s really no need to disrespect them this way.
Really unprofessional, disrespectful and unconsidered.
A complete waste of time and opportunity just because a recruiter is unable to properly do his job.
