I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2011
Interview
I should of realized something was wrong when I walked in and the receptionist was wearing a football jersey and baseball cap! The phone screen went really well but they omitted to tell me that if you come in for a face to face interview you need to take an IQ Test. The IQ test was ridiculous, and the interview process was sloppy, they did not have an interview schedule and it seemed liked they called whoever was available at that moment into the interview. No one was prepared, they were struggling to come up with questions, and the recruiting team seemed very green (they also had me talking the person who schedules interviews??!!). I started to wonder if they took any of their own assessment tests. The other thing that bothered me is that I had brought in samples of my work and they did not even have the decency to take a minute to look at it. I seriously got the impression that ThoughtWorks thinks they are the best and everything else is inferior. Long story short, I must have not answered some questions incorrectly and they gave me the impression they were no longer interested. Needless to say, as soon as I walked out I sent them a thank you but no thank you email. Regardless of the outcome don't you want your candidate to speak about what a great experience the interview process was and maybe refer someone from your network?

The process was thorough with several stages including both standard interviews and some online testing. The interviewers were professional and warm and I had a positive experience during the process.

Interview
Had the interview last year (2022). Phone screening and first two interviews were great (with reporting manager and the APAC team). Final interview with the MD didn't go so well. MD had this stuck-up air around him the whole time and didn't seem interested in your answers or talking to you. Advice - We all start somewhere, and you were a junior level employee once before. No matter your level, as a person, give the other party the respect they deserve. Questions were asked based on random card selection, which I thought was a fresh and new idea, but the questions asked were honestly not going to translate into your working abilities or capabilities. I was ultimately rejected, but had shortly secured a job right after their rejection, so I guess it didn't work out for a reason.

I really admire Thoughtworks's Social Change interview. it really change the perception how you to look at the world, every company should conduct. They really focus on what a candidate thinks and perceive about the social causes. & considering those beautiful Minds that's how thoughtworks build their culture
