Interviewer was late to meet me and was very odd, they kept saying they had people more qualified for the role and more suited but kept wanting me to continue my application whilst simultaneously downplaying the chances that I'd succeed. Said that they needed a hire for this job so that they could take Friday's off again and that the big perk of the job was being opposite a pub.
I had informed them that I only had one hour as I was interviewing on my lunch break and they were made aware of this in advance but the interviewer kept talking about their life without asking any questions for the last 20 minutes or so, and I had to interrupt to cut the interview short as I was already 30 minutes late at this stage and they appeared to no longer have any questions for me. At one stage they also admitted that they have a short temper with their staff and that 'their bark was worse than their bite' so not to worry too much about it.
I assumed that the interview went badly because they had repeatedly informed me they had better applicants but about 15 minutes after my interview as I was heading back to work I got a call from the recruiter saying that they wanted me for another interview and thought I was great. I declined as I found the entire demeneor off putting, their admission of a short temper and the need for a staff member so that management could take Friday's off along with what seemed like negging behaviour? I opted out.
