I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Feb 2020
Interview
After a brief phone interview with HR got invited for an on site interview. Team leader was completely unprepared and quite frankly unaware of what his or my role would actually involve. Most questions were asked by an HR person who had significant lack in technical understanding of molecular biology (yet was trying to assess my competence).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly standard questions such as why this company, describe a significant professional problem in the past and interactions with co-workers.
I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Middleton, WI)
Interview
First had an interview with the hiring manager. Then had an online interview with three different supervisors separately. Was told ahead of time how the interviews would work when discussing with hiring manager
I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Richmond, VA)
Interview
Very rigorous interview full of pre planned questions. It’s difficult to get to know the interviewers. Come prepared with technical knowledge of the job. They expect you to be very familiar with equipment and protocols for scientific positions.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Jan 2025
Interview
Quick progression once it started. HR interview, then hiring team, then actual team panel. Some technical questions, mostly behavioral. Very clear outline for what to expect. After each interview by end of day I got a call to schedule the next. Then after my final interview they called to give me an offer. Only 3 days (over a weekend) to review and sign.
