      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Theodo (London, England) in Feb 2022

      Interview

They were all very friendly and helpful throughout the process. It's long (stretched over 4 weeks for me), but they were flexible and got back to me quickly (at most a few days) every time. Lots of opportunities to ask questions. 1. Initial screening call: why you want to work there, etc. 2. 1-hour Codility programming test consisting of 3 exercises. The first 2 were very simple, don't waste time on them. The last was more difficult (dynamic programming). 3. 1-hour Logic interview. They want to see how you break problems down. 4. 1-hour Pair Programming interview (JavaScript). They practice Test Driven Development, no problem if you've not done it before (I hadn't). Just look up the basics. 5. 45-min "Values & Culture" interview (same person as screening call). 6. In person 1-hour interview with the COO: similar to 5. Also an opportunity to tour the office and talk to people. The culture is centred on growth, continuous improvement. Be open about what you need to improve on, and why you think Theodo can help with it.

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Theodo (London, England) in Jun 2022

      Interview

Very well organized and enjoyable interview process, which consisted of multiple interview rounds (all online). 1. Initial behavioral interview with HR (30 min) Fairly standard behavioral interview questions. Focussed on why you'd want to work in a fast-paced environment. 2. Codility Algorithms Test (65 min) Online algorithms test with three parts, either in JS or Python. First two were pretty simple questions ("Easy" on Leetcode), third one was more difficult (probably "Medium" on Leetcode). Prepare by practicing Leetcode questions beforehand. 3. Virtual on-site interview (3 hrs) with three parts 3. 1 Logic interview (60 min) Had to solve 3 riddles and walk through the process of how I approach the problem. Problems varied in difficulty, but a good approach in all of them was to consider smaller base cases of the problem first. To practice, do some of the medium to hard difficulty puzzles on Geeks for Geeks. 3.2 Pair-programming (60 min) Worked together with an engineer on a simple programming task using TDD. The problem is not particularly hard, but the pair programming makes it quite fast-paced. Very good opportunity to talk to a non-HR person from the company. 3.3 Culture fit (45 min) Pretty standard behavioral interview questions, although it felt more like a good conversation rather than an interrogation. I found it very enjoyable and my interviewer was genuinely interested in my answers. 4. Culture fit with CTO (60 min) Similar to the other behavioral interviews, but slightly more big picture. If you're genuinely interested in the company, this is a great chance to have a conversation with the CTO. Overall, I had a very good impression of Theodo after interviewing with them. Took another offer because it seemed like the better fit.

CTO: Discussion about the coding assessment with the company's CTO. b. Logic riddles: You are told there are two, but if you move fast enough they are supposed to give you more.
