This is only a review of the initial phone screen, as after the phone screen I decided to withdraw. I was invited to a phone screen with a Talent Acquisition Specialist. I scheduled the phone screen via an app that she provided. The earliest available times were at least two weeks away from the email invitation. The entire interview was fine. However, toward the end of the interview, I was able to ask a few questions. I eventually asked if she could provide a salary range for the position. At this point, the entire tone of the conversation became extremely tense and uncomfortable, and she answered my questions with a lot of hostility and contradicting answers, which I did not appreciate. She said: "I believe that's already posted on the job description..." Me: "I didn't see it on the LinkedIn posting or on the YMCA page, but I could've missed it!" Her: "Okay, well I don't have that information." Me: "That's okay! Do you know when that information would be provided?" Her: "We're currently going through a transitional time, so I know things are changing and I'm not sure when that would be decided or made available." Me: "Oh, okay." Her: "So are you telling me that if I'm going to invite you back that you're not going to accept because I can't get you this information?" Me: "No, that's not what I'm saying! I would love to move forward! I would just be curious about when that would be made available. But yes, I'd like to move forward." Her: "Okay, so I'm going to need you to be really clear. Because you're not giving me a yes or a no answer here, so do you want to move forward or not." Me: "Yes, I would like to move forward." Her: "Okay then."
