The interview itself isn't all too bad. However, with only one employee in HR (Oregon Location), the rest of the process took over a month. After accepting their offer letter and asking about my first day, I was ghosted for about a week.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2013
Interview
Filled out form in person, got a call a few weeks later, went in for interview, got an offer, did the drug testing.Talked about what you do at the job, how to talk to the people. It was more I was being told what to do on the job than being asked questions. Not very clear what the job was until I actually started.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How I would deal with unruly children and unruly members. What to do in certain emergencies, hard to answer when you do not know anything about the facilities or the membership. Basically I answered as if I were saving my own family from a disaster, a child predator, and talking down an unruly disgruntled adult.
Panel interview, never heard from them again. Phone screening and interview with 3 people, went well and good conversation. Did not hear back at all, not even rejection. I have to write 30 words
I applied online. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Lincoln, NE) in Jun 2024
Interview
Easy and straightforward. Basic interview questions about why you want to work at the Y, a time you’ve had good customer service, what you expect the job to entail, etc.
