I applied online. I interviewed at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy
Interview
One video interview with two people which lasted approximately twenty five minutes. The questions were rather generic. Both people were polite. Overall it was an ordinary and pretty unremarkable experience.

Interview
I have interviewed at the Washington Institute twice for two different positions. In both cases, my male interviewers made condescending and patronizing remarks, such as asking me, ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’ (I am a woman in my twenties) or ‘so you’ve just rattled off a lot of experience’ leaving the impression this is a place that I would not be taken seriously.

Interview
Cordial interview conducted by more senior member and more junior assistant. Focused on research background, administrative experience, how you gather information (ie news networks), as well as language skills. Interviewers were professional but friendly.
