An incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful experience.
I applied for the position through Total Jobs on the 10th March 2026 and was contacted by their Recruitment Manager the following day with a 9-question email assessment, in which I was required to highlight my suitability for the role. I completed and returned the assessment on the 12th March.
I further contacted the company on the 31st March, to enquire whether I was still being considered for the position, as I had not received a response to my e-mail assessment in over 2 weeks. I was then asked by their Recruitment Manager to make further time in my diary to complete another informal assessment (which I had already provided responses to); however, this time it would be a 40-minute "discussion" via Microsoft Teams. Only after passing a 3-stage application process would they invite me for a formal interview.
In the end, I withdrew my application, as I was shocked by the unprofessionalism of the whole recruitment process, given the position was a £28,000 - £30,000 role. Additionally, I can imagine them being an absolute nightmare to work for if this experience demonstrates how much they undervalue the time of people.
