I applied online. I interviewed at The Travel Collaborative (Saco, ME)
Interview
Submitted resume and received a follow up with a phone interview time within 2 days. The phone interview lasted seven minutes, the interviewer told me that I didn't have the exact experience they were looking for but said if I was willing to start at a very low salary then my other international sales and education experience would be useful. I was offered an in-person interview. The interviewer did not ask questions about my experience, basically talked at me the entire time and then asked me to the interview at their offices in Saco, Maine.
I interviewed at the Saco headquarters with two employees, one was the manager. Again, not many questions and was told that " anyone with common sense can do this job" They did not ask any typical interview questions, basically just summarized the position. They said they would call by the end of the week. I followed up with a thank you note, and an email a week later letting them know i look forward to their call and the best number again to reach me. I left feeling that I would be offered the job, but was not certain I wanted the opportunity.
They never got back to me to let me know if I was offered the job or not. After two weeks of not hearing, I decided that it did not seem like a reputable branch of the company ( Saco) and would not recommend to anyone to apply. Small team, 4-5 people and the culture of the office and nature of the position ( long hours on salary with weekends and over time expected) would not contribute to a good life-work balance.
