      Computer Programmer Interview

      5 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Paisley, Scotland
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Training Room (Paisley, Scotland) in May 2021

      Interview

There was a very aggressive sales pitch , immediate demanding of a sign up registration fee £10 on phone and £50 on website. They then either wanted a £1.6 k fee paid all at once for the course or £2.2 k at £60 a month from September. Given course is 400hrs it seems unlikely you'll be finished by then. When challenged on course content the interview got quite hostile and kept emphasising how id get a job however no context to this was given. No salary range nor titles discussed. They did promise alot of support however as soon a I expressed concern they tried to shut down my questions by talking over me . The phone call was 30 min in which I maybe talked for 2min . Im not familiar with IT programmes but it seemed like a rather aggressive tactic. Finally when I mentioned poor reviews on the internet the interviewer was very shaken and started to trash talk people who give these reviews and pushed me towards their own site and feebo where I haven't seen anything less than 5 stars , a major red flag. After I expressed intrest in reviewing their creditability with friend in the industry they were very dismissive of me and couldn't hang up the phone fast enough. Post phone call I had 3 separate emails about the programme. For those interested the friend in industry had not heard about them and recommended staying clear.

      Question 1

Will you be paying the money up front? (seriously it was their only concern)
